Johnny Hartman, baryton chaud du jazz et de la pop, est surtout admiré pour ses ballades. Il reste connu pour son disque de 1963 avec John Coltrane, après avoir chanté dans les orchestres d'Earl Hines et de Dizzy Gillespie.
