Chicago saxophonist, he had a radio hit with his version of the Exodus theme and stood out for the saxophone amplified with the Varitone. Author of Freedom Jazz Dance and Listen Here, in 1969 he recorded Swiss Movement with Les McCann, one of the best-selling jazz albums.
