George Russell

Pianist, composer, and theorist born in Cincinnati. In 1953 he published the Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization (initially self-published) and wrote Cubano Be, Cubano Bop (1947) for Dizzy Gillespie's orchestra.
