Georgia Sea Island Singers
Vocal group from St. Simons Island (Georgia), recorded by Alan Lomax in 1959 and 1960 with Bessie Jones, whose repertoire goes back to slavery. In the 1960s-1970s it performed on the folk circuit, at the Poor People's March, and at Jimmy Carter's inauguration.
