Cuban pianist, long a member of Enrique Jorrín's orchestra (danzón, cha-cha-chá), then pianist of Arsenio Rodríguez's ensemble in the early 1940s. He returned to the spotlight in 1996 with the Afro-Cuban All Stars and the Buena Vista Social Club project.
