Malian orchestra founded in Bamako in 1970 with state support, resident at the buffet of the railway station hotel. Starting from Latin jazz in the style of Congolese soukous, it blended in griots, kora, balafon and n'goni; Salif Keita and Mory Kanté sang with it.
