Brazilian pianist, singer, composer and bandleader born in São Luís (Maranhão) in 1948, who blends samba, bossa, Afro-Latin rhythms, pop and jazz fusion. After a stay in Paris in 1974 and then settling in New York, she broke through internationally in the early 1980s, notably with Come with Me.
