Krautjazz (German jazz-rock)
In West Germany in the late 1960s, musicians coming from free jazz (Jaki Liebezeit, Mani Neumeier, who had passed through Globe Unity) and collectives such as Embryo (Munich, 1969) blend improvised jazz, psychedelic rock and world music. Embryo, "the most eclectic of the krautrock groups", embodies this jazz side of krautrock from "Opal" (1970).
