Context

Composition by James Reese Europe recorded for Victor in New York on February 10, 1914, at the time his orchestra was accompanying the dance couple Vernon and Irene Castle. These 1913-1914 Victor sessions are considered among the best examples of "hot" pre-jazz ragtime in the northeastern United States.
