Context
Title track of the instrumental album Tche Belew (Kaifa Records, 1977) by Hailu Mergia and the Walias Band, house band of the Hilton hotel in Addis Ababa. Mergia plays organ and Moog synthesizer, and Mulatu Astatke appears on vibraphone. A rare Ethiopian instrumental record of the post-revolution period blending local melodies, funk, and soul, it was reissued by Awesome Tapes From Africa in October 2014.
