Context
Recorded live at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on December 5, 1980, this medley opens the album Friday Night in San Francisco (Columbia, 1981). It strings together a composition by Al Di Meola and a rumba by Paco de Lucía, as an acoustic guitar duel. Critic Walter Kolosky considers the album perhaps the most influential of all live acoustic guitar albums.
