Context
Credited to Bennie and Buster Moten, but also claimed by Count Basie and Eddie Durham, this 32-bar AABA theme on the chord changes of "You're Driving Me Crazy" was recorded for Victor in Camden on December 13, 1932. Opened by a sparse piano solo from Basie, it moves to A-flat for a chorus by Hot Lips Page. Covered by Goodman and Henderson in 1938, it became a key piece of Basie's orchestra.
