Theme of Blake Edwards's detective series, built on a single chord and a very simple line, crossing jazz orchestration with rock'n'roll pulse. The album "The Music from Peter Gunn" (RCA Victor, January 1959) is the first to win the Grammy for Album of the Year and entered the National Recording Registry in 2010.
