Wee (Allen's Alley)
Context
Composed by Denzil Best, "Wee" opens the album taken from the May 15, 1953 concert at Massey Hall in Toronto, which brought together Parker, Gillespie, Powell, Mingus and Roach, released in December 1953 by Debut, Mingus's label. Parker, under contract elsewhere, is credited there as "Charlie Chan"; Mingus and Roach later overdubbed in New York the poorly recorded bass lines. "Hot House," the episode's title, is already in the database in another version.
